We asked attorney Robert Woods former police officer how is former job as a law-enforcement officer has helped with all of his 18 wheeler accident clients.

"My job as a former Houston Police officer has taught me the dangers of semi-trailer trucks; otherwise known as 18 wheelers or Semi's. The average vehicles weight is around 5000 lbs. These vehicles don't have a chance against a 80,000 lbs semi-trailer truck. As dangerous as their size would indicate, you would be amazed at how poorly these large vehicles are maintained. I don't believe I have ever seen a 18 wheeler pulled over for inspection that didn't have some type of safety issue, and usually its with the braking system. It is not happenstance that there are so many 18 wheeler accidents on the road, and the 18 wheeler is probably at fault." - Attorney Robert Woods
